About the author
From word to heart
Eugene Bezimenny is a Ukrainian poet who writes in the spirit of resistance and remembrance. His poetry is an act of resilience and hope in times of darkness. His work is published in three languages to bring Ukraine’s voice to the world.
I am creating a trilingual collection of poetry: in Ukrainian, English, and French to convey our truth to the world.
It contains voices of war and exile, love and pain, resilience and hope.
These are words I wrote in the silence of the night, after news of losses, in prayers for those who are far away.
Don’t wait for time to feel just right
That moment’s only in your mind.
Life is not yesterday or “might,”
Not future’s dusk, nor past confined.
It blazes in the now – alive…
Eugene Bezimenny
Words of resistance
At a time when our homeland is undergoing terrible trials, words are more than art. They are weapons. They are memory. They are prayer.
I am creating a trilingual collection of poetry: in Ukrainian, English, and French to convey our truth to the world. It contains voices of war and exile, love and pain, resilience and hope. These are the words I wrote in the silence of the night, after the news of losses, in prayers for those who are far away.
My goal is to print it and give the world our present, expressed in verse. I dream of holding this book in my hands not only in Montreal, but also in Toronto, New York, Washington, Lviv, and Kyiv. And, most importantly, to pass it on to schools, libraries, cultural centers, museums, and embassies.
To this end, I am seeking support. Your support is not just a contribution to the book. It is a contribution to preserving our memory. To the voice of Ukraine, which will be heard in different countries around the world. How you can help:Become a patron and help with the publication of the printed version (your name will be mentioned in the book)

- It speaks with the voice of Ukraine, in the language of poetry, which needs no translation by the heart.
- It combines three cultures: Ukrainian, English, and French.
- It stitches together what has been torn apart through memory, beauty, and words.
- 50% of all proceeds will go towards medical assistance for Ukrainian defenders.
